Alicia Brigode attended the 2025 Master of Foxhounds Association (MFHA) Professional Development Program as part of her continued commitment to developing her knowledge, leadership, and professionalism within foxhunting. Based in Aiken, South Carolina, Alicia has built her professional life around horses, horsemanship, training, and the equestrian community, making continued education through the MFHA an important part of her growth as a horsewoman and professional.
Through her involvement in Aiken’s equestrian community, Alicia has developed a deep appreciation for the traditions, responsibilities, and relationships that make organized hunting successful. The 2025 MFHA Professional Development Program provided Alicia with the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals and gain a broader understanding of the many facets of operating and supporting a successful hunt. The program strengthened her knowledge of hunt management, staff leadership, hound care and management, landowner relationships, membership, safety, tradition, and the business responsibilities associated with maintaining a sustainable hunting organization.
Alicia particularly values the opportunity to learn from individuals with decades of experience in the hunting world while also considering how those lessons can be applied to the future of hunting in Aiken. Her participation in the MFHA Professional Development Program reflects her desire to continue growing as a professional and to contribute meaningfully to the Aiken hunting community. Alicia hopes to use the knowledge and relationships gained through the program to support the continued strength, professionalism, and accessibility of foxhunting in Aiken while honoring the traditions that have made the sport such an important part of the community.
