Working Hand in Hand

The Axe Club is our dedicated volunteer jump maintenance crew. Working hand in hand with the Hitchcock Woods Foundation staff, this group meticulously “brushes” the beautiful fences that help make the Woods such a unique and special place. By packing the jumps with fresh pine cuttings, the Axe Club ensures safe, clearly defined lines for our riders and hounds all season long.

From clearing Rabbit Valley, to prepping Ridge Mile Track and historic Cathedral Aisle, this decades old tradition of fellowship and hard work is what makes our season possible.

Join us on the trails this Fall!

When: Beginning Thursday, October 15th and continuing each Monday and Thursday afternoon in October. *There will be a few additional dates added in November, including Thursday, November 12, to prepare for Opening Meet, so be sure to check your email for further details!*
Time: 2:00pm- 4:00pm
Where: Meeting in the parking lot of the Green House, 444 South Boundary Avenue SW, or Hitchcock Woods parking lot off Dibble Road/ Stable on the Woods (263 Rubbins Cottage Lane) *email will be sent out prior to the day confirming the meeting spot*
What to bring: Work gloves, water, your favorite loppers if convenient, and a sense of humor
