Looking for a trail ride in the Hitchcock Woods in Aiken, SC. Each fall, Aiken Hounds hosts a series of trail rides through Hitchcock Woods. Our rides are open to guests, members, and supporters No fox hunting experience required.
Our Saturday fall trail rides are a favorite tradition among Aiken’s riding community. Rides begin each year after Labor Day into October. Please check calendar for specific dates.
Group trail rides serve double duty: they’re a great opportunity to condition horses and riders ahead of the hunting season, and they allow local equestrians to spend Saturday mornings in the saddle with good company.
As with all mounted activities, Aiken Hounds requires the following for participants:

Our pace is relaxed, and we cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for riders of all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you’re a seasoned fox hunter or new to riding, there’s a place for you here. No hounds are present on the trail rides.

Following most trail rides, you’ll be invited to stay for a sponsored lunch. We ask that riders who join our lunch make a $10 donation to our Hound Fund. This small gesture goes a long way toward supporting our pack.
